SEAMUN I — Policies with a Purpose
An intermediate traditional committee for grades 9–12 and university students. Debate the death penalty and judicial protections against cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment with 30 delegate seats and 2 chairs.
UNHRC is one of ten committees at SEAMUN I, a student-led, non-profit Model UN conference focused on global healthcare and sustainability. 100% of surplus is donated to the Thai Red Cross Society.
The United Nations Human Rights Council is the UN’s principal intergovernmental body for promoting and protecting human rights. At SEAMUN I, delegates negotiate rights-based resolutions on capital punishment standards and prison justice systems.

Two curated topics for SEAMUN I UNHRC.
Delegates examine how states regulate capital punishment while respecting the right to life—balancing sovereignty, deterrence claims, and international human-rights norms. Research position papers and follow procedure once the chair report and ROP are published.
Debate state duties when underfunded prisons and justice systems produce cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment—and what international accountability should look like.
30 country assignments. You will be allocated one when you register as a delegate.
UNHRC follows Group 1 with DISEC and Press Corps at D-PREP International School Secondary Campus.
